Culinary

The goodness and benefits of Kima's existence are not only for residents of the marine ecosystem. Kima, which is rich in protein content, has since been an ancient source of healthy food for humans on earth. In fact, Kima's meat is believed to be able to add to the virility of men who eat it. Because of this, it is not surprising that Kima is a very expensive food ingredient and is often used as a special menu in fancy restaurants.

To cook Kima, it can actually be done in a simple traditional way. After Kima is separated from its hard shell, Kima meat can be directly put into a pan and boiled for about 30 minutes. This process needs to be done to make the poisons found in Kima die so that Kima is safe to eat. Once cooked, Kima meat is ready to be cooked in various ways like other seafood.

One type of food that is easy to cook for example is stir-fried Kima menu. Boiled kima can be drained then cut into small pieces. While cutting, cooking spices such as lemongrass leaves, pepper, salt and some other herbs can be prepared. After all is ready, then the spices can be mashed and sauteed first in the frying pan. After the scent starts to inhale, then the small chopped meat can be put into the frying pan. Saute about 5 minutes and stir-fried Kima menu is ready to be served.

The actual taste of beef is not much different from the snail meat or what we usually know as tutut. The solid and chewy texture feels and adds to the taste to chew it. Especially after mixing with the blended spices, the savory taste of Kima will further convince us that this food is truly delicious. Stir-fried Kima is very suitable to enjoy while taking a nap on the beach.

Actually, Kima is a highly protected animal because the numbers in the ocean are increasingly rare. However, the Papuan people, especially Raja Ampat, have traditionally made Kima one of their typical menus. Traditionally, local people still hunt Kima and eat it. But they do it wisely and not excessively. What should not be done is to exploit Kima excessively as a commodity that only benefits certain parties.

Kima is a part of nature that deserves to be valued very wisely. If we realize the benefits of Kima so much, we should also take part in efforts to conserve these animals by not hunting them massively. In addition, if we have taken Kima to be used as food, we must also contribute to breeding Kima so that the amount remains safe in the marine ecosystem. [@ phosphone / IndonesiaKaya]
