The term civilization is also often used to refer to a culture that has a system of technology, science, building art, art, and a sophisticated and complex state and community system.

Literally, civilization comes from the basic adab which means morality, politeness or subtlety of virtue. And humans who do not have adab are often said to be savages.

Civilization is defined as the overall complexity of the product of the mind of a human group that overcomes the country, race, ethnicity or religion that distinguishes it from others. Civilized at least a society is relative and there must be norms. The need for adab with civilization refers to people who have advanced social organizations, cultures and ways of life which are different from other societies.

Civilization is a particular and advanced stage of culture characterized by mastery of science, technology, art and others. Communities have different civilizations with each other. Civilization refers to a comfortable life. The indicators of civilization are as follows;

  • Social organization
  • High culture
  • An advanced way of life.

In Western culture, civilized humans are educated, polite and cultured. An important feature in the definition of civilization is culture (cultured), among others: literacy (lettered). Important factors in forming culture:

CIVILIZATION CHANGE AND HUMAN ROLE

Changes in civilization are usually associated with changes in elements or aspects that are more physical in nature, such as transportation, weapons, types of superior seeds found, and so on. Cultural changes relate to spiritual changes such as beliefs, values, knowledge, rituals, art appreciation, and so on. Whereas social change is limited to aspects of social relations and balance. Even so, it needs to be realized that something changes in the community forever have links including one element and the other elements are influenced by other elements.

The change in civilization referred to in the previous paragraph is that the process must be designed with awareness, intentionality, togetherness, and commitment, which is based on the true values of life. Furthermore through education, we can hope for its form, namely by educating the life of the nation. It is this smart life that deserves to be the basis of a solid and healthy civilization. Education is an absolute requirement for the development of civilization. Without adequate education, there will be no human resources capable of bringing changes to civilization in a better direction. Through the function of education in developing capabilities and forming dignified national character and civilization in order to educate the life of the nation, a generation that is able to implement the principles of how to change the world (how to change the world) is not just how to see the world (how to see the world) . And also, how to lead the change (how to lead change), and not just how to follow the change (how to participate in change). Therefore, education output must be directed to be an agent of change. This is where the role of education, in order to tap the integrity and unity of the nation, becomes very decisive.

Humans are individual beings who cannot escape from relationships with other humans. As a result of relationships that occur between individuals (humans) then social groups (social groups) are born which are based on commonalities of common interests. But that does not mean that all human groups can be said to be social groups. To say social groups have certain requirements.

In social groups that have arranged the structure of society, the occurrence of a change in the arrangement is a necessity. Because change is an absolute thing that happens everywhere. The reality of changes in society can be analyzed from various aspects including: the "direction" where change in society is "moving" (direction of change), what is clear is that the change moves leaving the changed factor. But after leaving that factor maybe the change moves to a new form altogether, but may also move to a form that has existed in the past. Change is a necessity, and change towards a better course is the desire of every individual and organization. Civilization is a term used to describe parts or elements of culture that are considered subtle, beautiful and advanced. The concept of culture is the development of culture that has reached a certain level which is reflected in the intellectual, beauty, technological, spiritual level seen in its society. Culture is dynamic. Therefore he can experience changes or shifts.

The necessity of history, we all continue to face the history of the development of the nation's civilization that moves forward and never returns. V. Gordon Childe, an archaeologist, defines civilization as a transformation of elements of human culture, which means transformation in mastery of writing, metallurgy, building monumental architecture, long-distance trade, standards of measurement of length and weight, arithmetic, conveyance, branches - branch of art and its artists, production surplus, exchange system or barter and use of plows or other farming tools. Of course, both culture and civilization are closely related to history.

If we observe more fundamentally, the level of human civilization is expressed in three main indicators, namely language, culture (all forms and varieties of art, science and technology) and religion. Furthermore, all three are characteristic of a particular race or nation, along with their tribes in their respective geographical regions. But in interpreting changes in civilization we must be guided that not all contemporary ones are good and vice versa not all the old ones are obsolete and irrelevant to the present life. In the eyes of culture, a great nation learns to replace what is bad from its culture, and keeps good things from its culture
