Indonesia has many rare bird species which have even been declared extinct by some ornitologists.

This happened because of the increasing rate of forest destruction plus the presence of large-scale bird catching for trafficking.

Of 1,598 species of Indonesian birds, 121 of them are endangered.

This type of rare bird varies. Ranging from water birds, honey birds, to fruit eaters.

Kuau Raja

These birds live in areas of primary forest that are still very natural.

Birds of this type are rarely found in disturbed forest areas.

This bird can be found in peninsular Malaysia, Kalimantan, and Sumatra.

Mentok Rimba

Jungle Mentok is a type of bird from the duck family.

However, stuck jungle can fly and can only live in a natural environment.

This bird lives on the island of Sumatra, especially in Way Kambas National Park, Lampung.

This bird is an endemic bird on the island of Buano, Maluku, not found anywhere else.

At present the number is estimated to only be around 200.

Unfortunately, the hummingbird boano has not been included in the list of protected bird species.
